This event will center on Mark’s new book, You Don’t Have to Do It Alone: The Power of Friendship. Our time together will explore the gift and spirit of friendship: to ourselves, each other, nature, and life itself. For friendship is an indispensable practice. And befriending who and what we meet is enduring and life-giving. We may discover our dearest friends in the dark labyrinth of seeking truth together or in the stillness of nature. Or, in a moment of feeling vulnerable, we may feel safe in the care of some trusted other. We often come upon our deepest friends when taking the long way home, when forced to put down our differences, when humbled to admit that we haven’t a clue where we’re going or how to get there. In these authentic and tender spaces, the net of friendship is woven.

The 90” reading and conversation will be followed by a book signing and a 45” river walk for those who are interested. The event is free but please rsvp so that we know you are coming.
