Know Your Nature: The Kalamazoo River

This event is no longer on sale.

Thursday July 25

4:30 PM  –  6:00 PM

Connecting deeply to the natural world in the place we live in is a guiding principle for KNC. This new series will be a place to learn from local experts about our local ecology, landscapes, environmental issues, flora and fauna, and our human interactions with the world we are part of.

Dr. Douglas McLaughlin, Kalamazoo Watershed Council Executive Director, will share updates on the latest challenges and solutions surrounding the protection and restoration of the Kalamazoo River. This program will include a lecture in KNCs Auditorium followed by a ~1 mile hike down to the river deck to continue the conversation on the banks of the river itself. There will be time to learn, ask questions, make connections, and begin to imagine your own role in caring for the Kalamazoo River Watershed.

This Program will meet at the Visitor Services Desk in the Visitor Center.
