KNC's TERRY TODD INTERNATIONAL SPEAKER SERIES SPONSORSHIP

We invite you to co-sponsor this highly-anticipated presentation and exhibition. Your sponsorship includes a special luncheon with our esteemed guest along with other sponsor benefits. On view in KNC's Exhibits Hall March 23, 2025 - January 5, 2025, KNC will host its first large scale traveling exhibition from the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry with: Roots of Wisdom: Native Knowledge. Shared Science. This interactive exhibition explores ecological challenges and the solutions that are informed by native knowledge, practices, and traditions. Real-life stories are presented through the voices of four indigenous communities, giving visitors insight into how traditional knowledge and Western science can be unified to improve our relationship with the natural world. In addition to the exhibit, KNC will host a lecture and book signing with Robin Wall Kimmerer. Kimmerer is a SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor of Environmental Biology, and the founder and director of the Center for Native Peoples and the Environment, whose mission is to create programs which draw on the wisdom of both indigenous and scientific knowledge for our shared goals of sustainability. In 2022 she was named a MacArthur Fellow. Robin Wall Kimmerer will appear at Kalamazoo's Chenery Auditorium, Friday, July 12, 2024, 6pm. This free presentation will be open to the public.
